SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

 

OCTOBER 17, 2007

 

 

OPENING CEREMONIES

 

1.              CALL MEETING TO ORDER

 

Mayor Bergman called the October 17, 2007 Special City Council to Order at 3:11 p.m. at the La Habra Heights Community Center, 1245 Hacienda Road, La Habra Heights, California.

 

2.              ROLL CALL

 

Present: Mayor Brian Bergman, Mayor Pro Tem Stan Carroll and Council Members Tela Millsap, Howard Vipperman (in contact by telecommunications for the Closed Session) and Layne Baroldi (arrived at 3:25 p.m.)

 

Also present: City Attorney Sandra Levin.

 

3.              FLAG SALUTE

 

Not performed.

 

            Mayor Bergman opened the meeting for Public Comment.

 

`           Stephen Blagden, Citron Road, stated that in the transition from one City Manager to another, there are many projects being worked on at this time. We cannot afford to loose momentum and progress on these items. Ask Mr. Bates what still needs to be done and what we should look out for. Delaying is costly in money and time. The best candidate for an Interim City Manager is someone who is familiar with the City and the many projects undertaken and planned and has demonstrated responsibility.

 

            Mayor Bergman adjourned to Closed Session at 3:15 p.m.

 

CLOSED SESSION

 

4.              PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT

 

Code: 54957

Title: Interim City Manager

 

Mayor Bergman reconvened the Council Meeting at 4:45 p.m. and asked City Attorney Levin if she had anything to report from the Closed Session.

 

City Attorney stated that no reportable action had been taken.

 

ADJOURNMENT

 

            Mayor Bergman stated that they will have another Special Meeting on October 30, 2007 at 5:30p.m. He adjourned the October 17, 2007 Special City Council Meeting at 4:45 p.m.
